Haleakala Sunrise: Part Two

After the beautiful sunrise which we have just witnessed, the adventure of the downhill bike tour is upon us, and what an exciting feeling I have. The temperature is rather cool, even with the sun basking our faces. The driver of the van unloads the bikes for us, gives us our helmets, and sends us on our way. Seana takes the lead, she is extremely athletic, and in no time at all she is tearing down the mountain at a rapid pace. I struggle to keep up with this amazing wonder woman. There is an abrupt slow to the pace as sweet Seana pulls to the side of the road to retrieve a plastic bottle that was carelessly tossed onto this precious, sacred, and mystical mountain. I can't help but smile at this precious woman of my dreams. The perfect woman is by my side, and we pull over for a photo opportunity.

Luscious green slopes wet with dew fallen from the previous night glaze the terrain as the sun showers us with its' heavenly rays. How I enjoy every second of this precious time I am spending with this truly beautiful woman. I smile from ear to ear as we share this special day together. I'm giddy with excitement, as I know this will be a trip of a life time with my love.

Views of the island are spectacular, lush, and breath-taking. Our journey continues down this great mountain as we descend at a fairly rapid pace, partly due to the steep incline the mountain presents, but mostly pertaining to Seana's speed racing abilities as she effortlessly zips on down! The rugged terrain consisting of mostly rock and tundra transitions beautifully to forested alpine, eucalyptus, and Koa trees -- one of the most valued hardwoods in the entire world.

I've traveled to far away places and ventured into lush terrain from the likes of which have never been seen, however, I have never seen or breathed such clean forest air available here on this mountain. The scents range from deep pine to spicy eucalyptus and the breathe of fresh air is second to none. Seana and I stop for a moment of reconciliation, as well as a deep, passionate, and loving hug. Feelings of bliss surround my body as this wonderful, caring, and absolutely gorgeous woman takes my breath away as she stares into my eyes. This is love, and it is the truest and most pure emotion I have ever felt. We are feeling a bit hungry and are ready to enjoy a meal at Kula Lodge, home of the famous hot cocoa and marvelous eggs Benedict.

The view from our table is exceptionally nice as we can see all of West Maui as we wait for our wonderful meal of eggs Benedict and hot cocoa. Seana picks a beautiful carnation and gently places it in her ear, just when I thought she could not get any more perfect, she customizes her look with nature's sweet pink flower. Breakfast is delicious, hollandaise sauce on the Benedict is to die for, I can't even finish it as Seana continues her slow yet consistent pace of devouring her breakfast. We wrap up breakfast and pay a visit to the art gallery located just outside the restaurant. Beautiful paintings by the renowned Curtis Wilson Cost decorate the walls, the prices are a bit out of my range, but nevertheless they are magnificent works of art. We decide it may be time for a nap, and I know of a spot with soft grass and nice views.

Seana and I get on the topic of love, marriage, and kids. I proclaim to her that I want kids, preferably a little baby girl to hold, love, and care for forever. It just so happens that Seana wants the same, and she states, "Yea, but she'll love you so much more! You'll spoil her!" I quickly quell that idea for fear that she may be right, but I assure her that she will always be my main Queen, no matter what other princesses we bring along in the future. A full belly, loving conversation, and a comfortable hill to rest, we drift off into a deep slumber under the Maui sun.
We wake up feeling refreshed and decide to go see the horses.

These horses enjoyed the fresh grass provided to them. This nullifies the fallacy of 'the grass being greener on the other side of the fence', because in this specific scenario it actually was. The horses are extremely tame and allow Seana and I to pet them and caress their soft coats. I have an idea to stop by an old friend's yard that strictly plants Native Hawaiian plants and shrubs, it is truly a rare sight to see only native plants in one's yard-- sad but true.

Naio: bastard sandalwood ................ Acacia Koa: Native Hardwood

Loulu: Hawaiian fan palm ..................... Koa seedling: future Koa canoe?

Ie'Ie: Native vine- endangered .......................... Papala: Native shrub

Ha' ha: verge of extinction ............... Ulu: Hawaiian breadfruit tree

With this beautiful property flourishing with Native Hawaiian plants, it gives me hope that there can be a major reforestation effort here on Maui. I'm happy that this is going on and it shows that with just cause and proper care we can make a difference in bringing back the eco-system to the way it is meant to be.

Over all this trip is one for the memory books, I will always remember our sunrise and it adds to the glorious moments in Our Life. Seana and I are so happy together, and we grow and nurture each other every single day. This love of ours is sacred and can only be understood by those who truly feel that they have found their soul mate. I wish it upon everyone to find their soul mate, and if they have not yet, don't stop looking! There is someone special out there for everyone, and Seana is that special woman for me. I am blessed everyday that I get to wake up next to her and realize that my true love fell into my arms -- not by accident, but by pure fate alone.
I Love You Seana!!!
